Biography
Humming Urban Stereo is an electronic trio based in South Korea. Their music, similar to that of the shibuya-kei movement, is a fusion of bossa nova, acid jazz, lounge, and house. It was created by Yeslow, also known as Lee Jirin (이지린), who is the leader, vocalist, and keyboard player. He is assisted by two female vocalists, Shina-E and Humming-Girl, who featured as the vocalist for in many of HUS' notable works prior to her death in 2012. and Brown Bunny, who assisted with composition and vocals in HUS' earlier works. The group debuted in 2004 with the extended play Short Cake under notable indie label pastelmusic (KR:파스텔뮤직). Due to conflicts with pastelmusic regarding distribution rights and copyright claims, the group eventually moved to label waltzsofa, founded and ran by member Yeslow.
