wow, somebody dragged in politics here. i think it's up to taiwan people to decide whether they want to be an independent country or a part of china. i don't trust newsreport or propagandas of governments. they're always lying. and currently there's no way for chinese people to know about the real opinion of taiwan majority. because of the media censorship.

Hey my girlfriend is from Taiwan and whenever I ask her what is the releationship between Taiwan and China, she says there are lost of common things. However she insists to call her Taiwneise because she feels like Taiwanesie not Chinese. In addition she told me Taiwan and China dont like each other. What is importatnt Taiwan is a totaly seperate and individual country which doesn't need any help

The main point was, I'm very sorry about my lack of knowledge. I had some unconscious vision of what is Taiwan. I had never really studied it. Especially as I saw there is a language Taiwanese I easily thought it would be a country or something like that. Please believe that there was no meaning to insult, no criticism and no verdict/opinion in my comment, simply a fool misunderstanding.

there are, at least, well over 9 billion people (90% of all chinese) who will feel very strongly about your question Kookie. To me, saying Taiwan as if it is not part of China is a big big insult!
