Biography
海克力斯 (Hercules) is a newcomer in the Taiwanese metal scene, they were signed by Rock Empire Rec. They have released a mini album in 2006 called 遊園驚夢 (Wildest Dream). Their music is influenced by several metal styles, mainly Gothic metal, epic metal, symphonic black metal and power metal. They also mix influences from Chinese Operas and Taiwanese Buddhist Music in their songs, creating very catchy ambiances and atmospheres. They sing in Mandarin (the Taiwanese variant) and use a poetic and heroic style more or less akin to the one found in Chinese traditional literature. Their mini album is a concept album articulated around the 2000 years span of Chinese history and culture. Each of the three tracks depicts a period of Chinese history. The first one recalls the fact that Chinese people are the descendants of Dragons (the sacred tribes called Dragons). The second is inspired from an episode of the Beijing Opera (霸王別姬)and the third track is dedicated to present time and the power of metal!!
