Bitei Matsuki was born and raised in the mountains of Shizuoka. He is an artist who’s music is inspired by jazz with a touch of Japanese sound.
He started listening to music on his own accord when a friend of his recommended the band Queen. Matsuki’s love for jazz and hard bop started when he and his friends started a band in high school.
He started writing his own songs near the end of 2012. Some artists that influenced Matsuki’s work were Bud Powell, Horace Silver, Carpenters, and many more. He is also fond of pop music. The mix of jazz and pop are what Matsuki seems to do in his songs. He often releases music on his SoundCloud and Twitter, '@matsukibitei'.
