RAINBOW (Katakana: レインボー Hangul: 레인보우) is a 7 member South Korean girl group under DSP Media (formed in 2009). The group is said to have 7 members to represent each color of the rainbow. They debuted in South Korea November 2009 with their first mini-album Gossip Girl. In August 2010 they released the digital single A. The dance routine for “A” (in which they lift up their shirts just above their navel) caused controversy when TV station MBC banned it from broadcast for “sexual content”. Rainbow released their third single Mach in October 2010, which featured a sexy dominatrix concept.

In April 2011 Rainbow released their second mini-album SO 女, including the single “TO ME (내게로…)”, which showcased a more glamorous image than their previous releases. The song was a success, peaking at #4 on Korea’s GAON singles chart. In June a repackaged version of the mini-album was released with a new single “Sweet Dream”.

In September 2011 they released their debut Japanese single, A.
