Trek was a rock band from Sverdlovsk, Russia (now Yekaterinburg). Formed in the summer of 1980 with roots in prog rock, but also adding then-newly-acquired new wave influences. The band played its last gig in January 1984, following a failed attempt to record a fourth album in 1983.
The best-known lineup featured: Андрей Балашов (keyboards, violin, vocals), Евгений Димов (drums), Михаил Перов (guitar), Настя Полева (vocals), Игорь Скрипкарь (bass, vocals).
Their three albums have been issued as a 2CD package in 1996. A best-of compilation also appeared the same year. A documentary was shot to coincide with these releases. A reformed version of the band has played occasional dates in the 00s.
