Biography

Simargl (in cyrillic transcription) is pagan/folk metal from Kirovo-Chepetsk, Russia.

The founders of the group are Mikhail Shkedin (guitar), Evgeniy Vorobyov (vocals), Artem Timshin (keyboards), Vadim Timshin (bass), Alexej Kultyshev (drums). The first demo of "Pesn' Slovena" is in the summer of 2004, consisting of 8-tracks, and amounting to a total of about 22 minutes.

At the same time with the release of first demo recording, due to personal reasons the band goes Evgeniy Vorobyov (vocals). He was replaced by his namesake - a young and promising singer Jegor Vorobjov. Later, the group also left Mikhail Shkedin, his place is taken by Nikita Semilarskij. At some time in the team appears keyboardist - Alena Iljina, and the band began to record the next demo, "Da V Rodnom Kraju…" (2008). During the concert activities left the band Alena, in its place was immediately decided to take the Ksenia Mashatina, which continued, and live performances. In particular, 27 March 2010 at a local club had played a great live show on the 7th anniversary of the group.

The group then takes part in numerous music festivals in Ekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Kirov. A few times playing with the famous Russian pagan metal band "Arkona". In 2012, together with the group "Dreams of Benjamin" recorded acoustic single "Vechnost (Eternity)."

In 2013, the band plans to release a full-length album, "Shelest Derev (The Rustle of Trees)."
