Biography

Kooperativ Nishtyak (Cooperative Nicey) is a Russian postmodern art punk band formed in 1984 in Tyumen by Kirill "Karl Fischer" Rybjakov, a philologist. Considered to be one of the main Siberian "punk" bands.
Its music varies from punk rock/hardcore punk and post-punk (early works) to psychedelic rock, neofolk, easy listening, and dark cabaret. Main lyrical themes are occultism and surrealistic visions, usually full of historical and literary allusions, irony, black postmodern humour, and (at one point) aesthetics of Third Reich. In early 2000s band moved from Tyumen to Moscow. Members of Kooperativ Nishtyak also played in fellow Siberian bands such as Grazhdanskaya Oborona and Instruktsiya po Vyzhivaniyu.
