Mit ihrer Mischung aus hallgetränktem Shoegaze und minimalistischer elektronischer Produktion spiegelt die Musik von the KVB Nicholas Woods und Kat Days Beherrschung der Atmosphäre wider, auch wenn sich ihr Sound im Laufe der 2010er Jahre weiterentwickelte. Frühe Veröffentlichungen wie das Debütalbum Always Then aus dem Jahr 2012 enthielten spröde Beats und Klangexplosionen, die gleichermaßen an Cabaret Voltaire und Jesus and Mary Chain erinnerten, aber der Stil des Duos wurde auf späteren Werken wie Only Now Forever von 2018 und Unity von 2021 stromlinienförmiger und kantiger. Das neue Album Tremors wird am 5. April 2024 veröffentlicht.
Blending reverb-soaked shoegaze with minimalist electronic production, the KVB's music reflected Nicholas Wood and Kat Day's mastery of atmosphere even as their sound evolved over the course of the 2010s. Early releases such as 2012's debut album, Always Then, dealt in brittle beats and sonic blasts that evoked Cabaret Voltaire and the Jesus and Mary Chain in equal measure, but the duo's style became more streamlined and sharp-edged on later efforts such as 2018's Only Now Forever and 2021's Unity. The new album Tremors is released on 5 April 2024.
