Miles Brown (The Night Terrors) launches his debut solo album Séance Fiction on Saturday 26th March at The Curtin.

Co-released between UK cult horror soundtrack label Death Waltz Recording Company, US film culture monolith Mondo and Melbourne underground imprint It records, Séance Fiction is Brown’s gothic techno party record, charting a hectic course through horror disco, darkwave, synth pop, chiptune and theremin-led synthwave extravagance.

To celebrate the release Brown will be joined an extra special lineup of Melbourne’s finest dark underground sounds:

- Scintillating avant-electronic darlings HABITS will whip the dancefloor into a frenzy with their sad goth party jams.

- Legendary chaos-rock juggernaut Deaf Wish (Sub Pop Records) will smash in psyches with their unhinged sonic catharsis.

- Experimental electronic genius Karli White will immerse us in her fabulous new wave goth n' b stylings.

- Airwave-crushing techno diva Ok Sure will open precedings with her intricate next wave robotik sounds.

The party then continues with DJs Kate Fox (Requiem) and VOIN (BLITZ Club Berlin) playing minimal synth, coldwave, darkwave, synth-tech, goth and underground 80s til 3am.

"Theremin ambassador, Miles Brown — best known as the mastermind behind horror synth outfit The Night Terrors — has just released his debut solo album Séance Fiction. Cold and minimal, lead single "Apparition" is a hypnotically entrancing twist on his previous work, with Pet Shop pop flirtations shifting the track from it's introspectively bleakness towards anthemic inclusiveness. Rolling Stone Australia

“The Night Terrors' frontperson and master of the theremin Miles Brown delves into heavy sci-fi synth territory on his debut solo outing Séance Fiction. The album follows on from lead-in single Electrics, fleshing out minimalist synth skeletons with creeping atmosphere and frenetic pulses, hitting operatic strides with lashings of the aforementioned theremin.” THUMP

“For his debut solo record, Miles Brown of The Night Terrors has delivered an absolutely killer mix of synth, theremins and 80s industrial synthpop. What makes this solo project stand out from his band output is the addition of vocals, giving the record less of a soundtrack feel and helping deliver some absolutely killer synth pop gems. He still utilises his beloved theremin throughout the album but the record has a slightly more aggressive tone than that of his band. I haven’t stopped listening to this since Miles sent it over and it really does grow with each listen. Tracks like ‘Electrics’ just burrow into your head and you just cant seem to get them out.” Spencer Hickman, Death Waltz Recording Company
