Description

Johnny Marr a founding member of cultural institution The Smiths and performer alongside the likes of Modest Mouse, Beck, Talking Heads, The The and Oasis, Marr was already rock royalty before releasing his Top 10 debut solo album The Messenger in February 2013.

Energetic, post-punk song writing complemented by Marr's characteristic guitar licks, engaging lyrical ideas and poised vocal phrasing. Playland is composed around the central theme that "songs that move at the speed of life" and captures much of the spirit that made his debut so memorable.

Confirmed Support: Flyying Colours

Hot off the news that guitar icon Johnny Marr will be unleashed on Australia and New Zealand audiences in January and February 2015 comes the announcement that psych-shoegaze maestros Flyying Colours will be joining Marr as special guests for his Australian shows! Having released their debut self-titled EP (through Universal) last year, Melbourne quartet Flyying Colours have quickly made a name for themselves as rising band to watch. The EP saw the band in the top 5 Airit charts for a month of widespread community radio play on FBi, 4ZZZ and RTR Fm as well as triple J. The EP has also been released in the UK, Europe and USA where it scored regular play on BBC, Amazing radio and XFM. Apart from collecting an impressive number of radio spins the EP has garnered praise from both street press and online tastemakers.
