Proving an electronic pop auteur with the dance-infused, instant classic Swim and giddy performances alongside Four Tet, Jamie xx and Radiohead, Caribou finally returns with his hypnotic seventh album Our Love – guiding audiences through his most personal songwriting yet with the rhythmic highs of a four-piece band in strobing, syncopated euphoria.
Lauded for transforming his bedroom-born symphonies with an all-live rigour to the stage, the London-based producer has channelled meadowed psychedelia through to driving techno in a slow-building career stretching 15 years. Edging closer to the club across ear-worm singles such as 'Can't Do Without You', 'Our Love', 'Odessa' and 'Kaili', the 35-year-old shifted gears with the DJ-focused Daphni moniker two years ago, aiming toward the 'small world where dance music lives up to its potential to liberate, surprise and innovate'. Now tailoring his mellow melodies to the ebbs and flows of festival-sized sunsets, the critically-acclaimed Our Love brings Caribou back to his intimate beginnings whilst reaching with a newfound openness to the world stage.
Marking his long-awaited return since performing with Four Tet three years ago, Caribou will make his Opera House debut as a rare purveyor of timeless songwriting and the future-facing possibilities of dance music – taking the stage with the wide-eyed abandon of a band at their dazzling peak.
