Description

7pm: Doors Open
Time TBC: 1st artist on stage

We are currently waiting for the finalised schedule for this performance and will update this page as soon as possible (this is normally on the afternoon of the performance).

The award-winning Scottish singer-songwriter Karine Polwart releases Traces - her first new album in four years – in August and will then be touring with her two regular collaborators, brother Steven Polwart (guitars & vocals) and Fair Islander Inge Thomson (accordion, percussion & vocals).

Karine draws from folk music’s long tradition while keeping pace with the changing times. Her talent for crafting enduring melodies, her gift for saying just enough without overstating her case, the range and dynamism of her arrangements, all come together in songs of powerful contemporary relevance. She also has the purest and most approachable of singing voices, drawing the listener towards her in the same way one might lean towards a late night tale by the fireside.

"A passionate, perceptive songwriter" (Uncut)
"Exceptionally subtle and melodic" (Q)
