Description
The tour follows the most successful two years in the band’s career to date. In May 2010 they released their breakthrough album, Brothers, to widespread critical acclaim. Debuting at # 2 in the US, it went on to win three Grammy Awards and an MTV Video Music Award, and topped numerous year-end lists. Featuring the hit singles ‘Tighten Up’ and ‘Howlin’ For You’, Brothers has since been certified Gold in the US and UK, and Platinum in Canada. Worldwide sales are now over one million and counting. The past two years have also seen the band tour the world, playing countless sold-out headline dates and festivals.
The Black Keys are singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. They released their debut album, The Big Come Up, in 2002, followed by Thickfreakness (2003) and Rubber Factory (2004). In 2006 they signed to Nonesuch Records for North America and released their fourth album, Magic Potion, which was followed by the Danger Mouse-produced Attack & Release in 2008. The Black Keys are currently putting the finishing touches to their seventh, as-yet untitled album. It will be released, for the first time worldwide, on Nonesuch Records. Recorded in Auerbach’s studio in their new hometown of Nashville, it is again produced by Danger Mouse. Carney describes it as “the first record we’ve made where it’s all rock and roll.” Auerbach has said “It’s the fastest we’ve ever played.” Further details will be announced shortly.
