THE TWANG

After their sold-out show in December at the HMV Institute, The Twang return with another massive hometown show at The Rainbow Warehouse on Thursday 6th October.

Fresh from the success of their home-grown ‘Guapa EP’, the next album is now complete, and to celebrate the announcement of the new record, the lads are giving away their new single ‘Paradise’ as a free download on their Facebook page.

The currently untitled album will be their third and is set for release in January 2012. It follows the success of their first two records (their debut clocking in excess of 200,000 sales bearing hits Either Way and Wide Awake, and second album delivering massive fan favourite Barney Rubble), which firmly cemented the band’s place in UK indie history.

Recorded in the band’s own studio facility, in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, the new album continues a story now into its second decade, with the creative hub of Phil Etheridge and Jon Watkin continuing to create, and the band continuing to take the Twang party out on the road.

PEACE

Peace are four boys from the West Midlands of England. Formed in October 2010 they cite vast influences; listening to great music from an early age, growing up in the 1990s, The Warriors, Paul Kalkbrenner's 'Sky & Sand', contemplating nature and Talking Heads.

Musically they create something melodic, deep and playful, which is at the same time dark, driving and sexy. Although sounding like some kind of chaotic future-indie hailstorm, it comes out as something completely inoffensive to the senses.

SWIM DEEP

Swim Deep are Austin, Wolfgang, Thomas and Zack. These four lads from Birmingham, and surrounding areas, blend a range of influences from The Cure to Small Black to Surfer Blood. After playing gigs all over the country, catch them in their hometown before they catapult to higher levels. Swim Deep are definitely ones to watch.

Gemma is a regular face in Birmingham Indie and Alternative scene having residences at Birmingham biggest indie nights Supersonic Vague and Panic! Miss Gemma Holz will deliver a trip through 90’s Brit Pop and through the 00’s years ruled by the likes of Kasabian and More.
