Leading force in the international funk and breakbeat scene, notorious for their ‘FORT KNOX SOUND’, self labelled as ‘REMINTED’ in representation of their truly unique signature flair and respected by the likes of heavyweight greats including A-Skillz, Krafty Kuts and Afrika Bambaataa, one element of FORT KNOX FIVE, JON HORVATH (JON H) is set to embark on his highly anticipated 2011Aus/NZ tour.
Having performed on five continents, in over 25 countries, their unique sound with its distinct interweaving of live instrumentation and funky electronic breakbeats is sought after by fans, producers and remixers alike. A further affirmation cemented the FORT KNOX FIVE’s reputation, when Afrika Bambaataa, ‘the godfather of hip-hop’ requested the pioneers produce four tracks on his infamous Dark Matter Moving at the Speed of Light album, released on the legendary Tommy Boy Label in 2004.
2009’s RADIO FREE D.C. REMIXED featured remixes of original tunes from the RADIO FREE D.C. album. Such luminaries as The Nextmen, A Skillz, Nick Thayer, Deekline & Ed Solo featuring Shunda K, Malente, and Sub Swara lent a hand to rework these songs into a completely new form.
No strangers to the DJ circuit, playing at some of the most prestigious venues around the globe including Madison Square Gardens in NYC, the Hollywood Bowl in LA, La Paloma in Barcelona, Fabric in London, and Die Registrateur in Munich, the group’s infectious party grooves effortlessly move from funk, reggae, and hip-hop to prime time beats & breaks.
This February get a taste of that ‘REMINTED FORT KNOX SOUND’ as JON H headlines the legendary REGROOVED parties during his 2011 Australia and New Zealand tour.
