Description
This exclusive event showcases a unique transatlantic collaboration between seemingly disparate artists joined by an impulse towards a captivating, majestic calm. Composer and keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson of the Icelandic post-rock group Sigur Rós joins forces with some of Europe’s most celebrated choristers for three of his new works, one of which features text by Canadian poet Anne Carson. The evening also comprises works from Riceboy Sleeps, the celebrated ambient creation of Jón Þor “Jónsi” Birgisson, the incandescent voice of Sigur Rós, and his partner, Alex Somers, under the baton of Jeffrey Milarsky.
Copresented by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Wordless Music.
Please note: Performances begin promptly at their scheduled times. There is no late seating.
