MATTY G
Dub Police, Argon Records, Household Management, www.myspace.com/mattygbeatz
Santa Cruz, California

Matthew Gonsalves better known as Matty G, is without doubt the pioneer of the hip hop influenced sub-genre that ever so present in today's flourishing dubstep scene. Since his first release in 2006 on US based imprint 'Argon', he has gone from strength to strength building on his sample based 90's hip hop sound and having scene defying tracks along the way all from his studio in Santa Cruz, USA. In 2007 came the massive '50,000 Watts' which set the bar for the sub-low 808 sound that many have tried to imitate since and remains a true anthem within the scene to this day. It gained support from the who's who of dubstep royalty including Caspa & Rusko (featuring on their legendary FabricLive compilation), Skream, Digital Mystikz, N-Type & Joe Nice to name a few and also received the remix treatment from dubstep pioneer Loefah, all going towards firmly cementing the track, and Matty G in the history of the sound. Later that year Matty came with another anthem in the shape of 'West Coast Rocks' which again raised the bar and received a remix from Dub Police head honcho Caspa, who also that year put out Matty's debut release for the Dub Police label on the 2nd installment of the License To Thrill series sharing wax with Rusko and Dubwoofa. In 2008 Matty released his debut album on Argon entitled 'Take You Back', which received rave reviews from all corners of the dubstep scene as well as bridging the gap even more so between dubstep and hip hop. Featuring vocals performances from the likes of Juakali and Audio Angel, the LP again solidified Matty's place among the dubstep ranks. As well as proving to be a renowned producer, Matty showed the masses he is as talented behind the decks, touring far and wide playing at such prestigious nights as; DMZ at The Mass in Brixton, Dub Police at Fabric in London and the world famous Glastonbury Festival (the largest music and performing arts festival in the world).

United Kingdom

Following a string of speaker rattling productions and highly acclaimed remixes, Alex Calver aka Calvertron has found himself the subject of attention of some of the most credible artists and record labels in the business. His tracks are consistently featured on the UK’s national radio stations and are spreading like a pandemic into the sets of the world’s most influential DJ’s. Formerly the producer/engineer behind one of the UK's most groundbreaking music duo's 'Twocker’, Alex’s versatility knows no bounds, from bass driven house music and Jacking/Electro, to Minimal Techno and Tech House (sometimes under his ‘Kalva’ guise). Alex has become one of the leaders on the global scene and has already had the honour of remixing such legends as Laidback Luke, Armand Van Helden and Sander Kleinenberg. Alex's work can be found on many of the UK’s super labels like Cr2, Ministry of Sound, Toolroom and Champion records as well as an array of global imprints including Trouble & Bass, Potty Mouth Music, Vacation and Bugeyed, not to mention the rising success of his own label ‘Jack Knife Records’. Also an accomplished DJ, Calvertron sets are just like the tracks he makes, impossible to pigeonhole with all the excitement of a frog in a blender. His sets are in high demand and he regularly headlines clubs all over the UK, highlights include Ministry of Sound, Turnmills and The Que Club. He's toured every continent but Antarctica but if there was a club down there he'd be partying with the penguins!
