KAKI KING ANNOUNCES EUROPEAN TOUR IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM ‘JUNIOR’
Kaki King has announced her biggest European tour to date, a 5-week jaunt across the UK and the continent in support of her new LP, Junior, due out on March 2 on Cooking Vinyl.
Produced by Malcolm Burn, Junior features King’s dazzling instrumentalism for which she is known. This record, however, showcases King’s picking within the context of crafted and driving rock songs.
In contrast to her previous records that featured deep textures and layers, Junior was specifically made with only three musicians in mind—in this case, King, multi-instrumentalist Dan Brantigan and drummer Jordan Perlson. The result was something potent and direct.
The power trio takes flight on March 7 showcasing new tracks like the spy-thriller “The Betrayer” and the punkish “Falling Day” which features King rocking a distorted ukulele.
