1) Colour was a four-piece math pop band from Kingston, United Kingdom.

Vocalist Alan Welsh and guitarist George Reid met at college in the London suburb of Kingston. Delivering a sound filled with detail, harmonies, time signatures and tempo changes that shares the experimental English soul of a young Radiohead, Colour unwittingly found themselves driving a new wave of math pop from the low-key Surrey town. The current line up (and indeed, name - they were originally called 'Color') wasn't solidified until February 2008, when after going through eight bass players in three years the band found Lewis Reynolds, a former member of the much-lauded Meet Me In St. Louis - of whom the other members of Colour were big fans. Colour have released the three EPs - Color (when they were still called Color; 2005), Conversations (2006) and Over The Moon (2007) and the singles Chutes (2008) and Unicorns (2009). With the line up cemented, their own sound being born after 3 years of writing in bedrooms, practise and teenage gigs in Kingston, they are beginning to notice the fruits of their labour. Their hometown shows are ammed to bursting. Myspace followers are singing along to all the words. The bands they call their friends from the Big Scary Monsters camp like Tubelord and Blakfish are getting closer to popping their heads out of the underground, one band at a time. And it looks like those sing-along choruses between the noodley bits might find themselves sung by a whole bunch more mouths.

Sadly however, Colour called it a day after their tour with Birmingham's Blakfish.

In spite of this, Alan will be re-emerging, singing for Tubelord on their 2010 autumn tour, due to singer/ guitarist Joseph Prendergast having vocal problems.

Alan and James Trood are also in a new band called Tangled Hair.
