I understand sampling completely, and if I hear a song that sounds sampled (like Mothership Reconnection) I'll do a bit of research to find out what the original song sounds like. So I guess you could say I'm not an ignorant person when it comes to funk samples. Although after listening to Parliaments original I have to admit that I liked it much better than the Daft remix. Just try to understand that Daft Punk was trying to pay tribute to a band they really respected. I hope there aren't any hard feelings :]

i don't know that i'm particularly schooled in all things electronica, but i will defend the Punk to the death, as they opened a lot of doors for ME, persaonally into a genre that i otherwise might never have explored, a genre that now includes some of my favorite bands; i'm a "there's no such thing as shitty music taste" kind of person: i hate seeing bands getting hated on, period, but i really hate seeing GREAT bands getting hated on, lulz. :]
