My Favorite Albums of 2007 so far:
The Field From Here We Go Sublime
Pantha Du Prince The Bliss
Battles Mirrored
Gui Boratto Chromophobia
Kettel Whisper Me Wishes
Deerhoof Friend Opportunity
LCD Soundsystem Sound of Silver
Biggest Disappointments of 2007 thus far:
Interpol Our Love to Admire
This album was a complete dud. They removed the awesome rhythm section that helped propel Turn on the Bright Lights and brought the awkward lyrics to the fore.
Animal Collective Strawberry Jam
I appreciate a band that is not willing to sit still and get stale but I just can't get into this new album.
Radiohead still has not released LP7. -
WTF?

So I was listening to Tom Waits' [album]Rain Dogs[/album] and towards the end of the song [track]Clap Hands[/track] I noticed something odd in the lyrics that I had never realized before. The last verse goes of something like this:
Shine, shine, a roosevelt dime
All the way to baltimore and running out of time
Salvation army seemed to wind up in the hole
They all went to heaven in a little row boat
Clap hands, clap hands, clap hands, clap hands
Going to heaven in a little rowboat reminds me of another song...Oh yeah! Radiohead's [track]Pyramid Song[/track]:
i jumped in the river and what did I see?
black-eyed angels swimming with me
a moon full of stars and astral cars
all the figures i used to see
all my lovers were there with me
all my past and futures
and we all went to heaven in a little row boat
there was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt
Radiohead and Thom Yorke especially, are notorious for jacking other artists ideas and blending them into something all their own. Let's not forget, that's how we got rock and roll. White artists stole from the black R&B artists, mixed it with a little country and bang! rock and roll. However this seems rather blatant, if somewhat obscure. So do you think Thom Yorke lifted that line from [track]Clap Hands[/track]? Or, was it like the line from [track]Harrowdown Hill[/track]:
We think the same things at the same time...
