  • My dream has come true - I've seen THREE DAYS GRACE live

    25 Oct 2008, 19:59

Wed 22 Oct – 3 Doors Down, Three Days Grace, Redeem

Woah! What an AMAZING day! I feel like the happiest person on this whole planet cause I've experienced my first Three Days Grace concert!!! in Germany! xD
I'm going to write a review about my whole day, not just the concert. For me it was probably the greatest day in my life.

Our journey to Dortmund started at 1:15 PM and we arrived at the hall at 3:45pm.
There were only 4 people already waiting in front of the hall, and they all were just there for 3 Doors Down. *lol* They kinda looked strange at me, maybe cause I've worn my Three Days Grace stuff (cap and shirt, yeah) I don't wanna say anything bad about 3 Doors Down but, if Three Days Grace wasn't the support I would have never visited that concert.
So it was boring to wait with 4 strange 3 Doors Down fans in front of the hall, we both (my brother Bjo and me) started to look for the tourbus of Three Days Grace. We always wanted to see these guys live and that day has finally come so we HAD to meet them, just to tell them how much it means to us that they're playing a concert in Germany tonight...
Then we found 4 buses...3 were black and one was red. We were waiting... but no one came out. And we also didn't know which bus is the one of Three Days Grace. xD
But suddenly we saw someone going to the red tourbus...and it was Neil xDD
I was really shocked at first and I said "hey, hey Neil.."
That was so cool. He's so nice and we talked a bit, I got autographs and photos. We asked him where the other guys are but he didn't know.
After a little while Brad dropped out of the bus and we asked him where the others are. He said he has no idea, but they are about to do the soundcheck soon. And we asked him a really important question: Are you guys planning to do an own tour through Germany next year? His answer was YES so we're really looking forward to 2009.

Meeting them was already the best thing that could happen to us before we go to the concert. We realised that we've waited there until 5:10 pm and we decided to go back to the hall where already 12 fans were waiting. Okay, now it's time to stay there and wait until we get into the hall.
The admission should be (like it was said on the ticket) at 7pm... but we waited...and waited... and waited... It was already 7:20 pm when these stupid security people let us in.
We went upstairs where we had to wait AGAIN for 5 minutes.
Finally they opened the doors and we ran to the barriers. YES! Standing first row at a great rock concert again!! My brother and I were the only ones who already had a Three Days Grace Shirt, haha, almost everyone in the hall were just waiting for 3 Doors Down oO
But good for me, I knew Three Days Grace will notice me with my shirt.

At 8pm the first band, Redeem, started their show.
They are from Switzerland and they were pretty good for an Opener, but I didn't really care about their performance, I was just excited to finally see 3DG live for the first time.
Redeem played about 25 minutes, when they left the stage they said "Have fun with Three Days Grace and 3 Doors Down!" HELL YEAH!
I was getting more nervous with every minute I waited. And then... it was getting darker. We already heard some guitar riffs, and the drums! OMG, Three Days Grace finally entered the stage! They started their show with "Animal I have become" and we (my brother and my friend Kina) rocked like we've never did before. We sang every song along, including screaming in Adam's microphone when he came to us while performing "Never too late"
Adam "its not too late..." and we screeeaaamed ITS NEVER TOO LATE.
Wohooo! One of the greatest moments of my life!
Unfortunately 3DG didn't have much time to play, after 8 songs they left the stage.
    Here's the playlist:

    1. PlayAnimal I Have Become
    2. PlayPain
    3. PlayJust Like You
    4. PlayI Hate Everything About You
    5. Get Out Alive
    6. PlayNever Too Late
    7. Riot
    8. PlayHome

They wished us a lot of fun with 3 Doors Down, but we didn't care and just leave the hall, because they said on their myspace page that there's gonna be a Meet and Greet after every performance!
We were sooo happy that we've experienced a Three Days Grace concert, and we're looking forward to the Meet and Greet. We waited..and waited and then a guy from Sony BMG came and told us the bad news... "I'm really sorry but Three Days Grace won't do the Meet & Greet." But why? "It was very stressful for the band..." What?? Come on, it was the first concert here in Germany, we just didn't understand why they cancelled the M&G...

I was crying so bad, I didn't even see the show of 3 Doors Down. Everything just sucked in this moment. Björn and Kina tried to cheer me up, saying "come on, we're gonna watch for their tourbus and then we meet them! We get it! We are the greatest bandstalkers, you know that!" Haha, yes, but finding the tourbus isn't always that easy...
So after I washed away the tears from my face, we went out of the hall. We need to meet them, that was the only thing I was thinking about. Otherwise the whole day would have been a big mistake -.-
We just got back to the place where the bus stand before the show, but it wasn't there anymore! WTF?! I was getting frustrated...so frustrated that Kina and me started to sing "Time of Dying" as loud as we could, there were some people walking by, looking at us like we are superfreaks or something. *lol*
Björn said "come on, we're gonna find the tourbus, don't give up!" So we searched at the place where many buses were standing... and there was a garagedoor, it was opened and what did we see? The red tourbus! Hell yeah!
There were already some crew members of 3DG and I asked them if the guys are already in the tourbus. He said we should just wait patiently, there are still in the hall and will come soon.
We waited... and after a while Barry came from the hall and I was sooo happy!
Damn, he's so cool. I got autographs on my little posters and we made 3 photos. Even one where we both make funny faces, hahaha Probably the funniest photo ever made.
So now we just wanted to see Adam... will he come? He wasn't in the tourbus so he must be in the hall. We waited almost half an hour... and then the real Adam Gontier came along, I saw him and I screamed ADAAAM. Damn, that was embarrassing xDDD
Adam is like the coolest person I've ever met, I got my autographs, photos ("can we make a super stupid photo like this.. *doing an awkward face*? - Of course ) and a HUG!

Yes, that was my day. Really, the greatest day of my entire life.
    Thanks for reading. =)
I know my english isn't perfect, but I don't care.
  • Rise Against LIVE in Groningen, 20th June 2008

    22 Jun 2008, 18:33

Fri 20 Jun – Rise Against, Antillectual

Fuck yeah, what an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. concert of Rise Against 2 days ago in Groningen!
It was my first Rise Against concert and I couldn't hope for a better show!
In March I told my Mum that Rise Against are coming to the Hurricane Festival, and that I really wanna go there for one day. I was hoping until May that they would have tickets for just one day, but they didn't because it was almost sold out. So I had to ask my brother if he would like to come with me to the Netherlands to see Rise Against live. Haha, and he said yes!!!
So our journey could begin :)
It was about 12 o'clock when we left home to drive to Groningen. This should be a looong journey, it took almost 4 hours to arrive there.
I told my brother "Come on, let's see if we find the tourbus of Rise, I wanna meet them." Okay, so we went to the backdoor of that huge building, but there was no tourbus. "Not good, we should go back to the entrance hall", I said and we left the backdoor.
We were watching on the street if any bicycles are coming...and of course, there were some bicycle driver.
I took a look at them and I noticed that the bicycle drivers were RISE AGAINST! Omg, what a shock! *lol*
I was like...almost screaming and I said Hi to them. They were so nice, they dropped off their bicycles and shaked our hands.
After that I asked for a photograph and here it is:

Well, at 7pm was entrance and we got into the tiny hall.
Yeah, we were standing in the first row again! And there were no barriers so we were as close as possible to the stage! :)
I don't know the time yet, when the first band started their show. They were okay, but for me nothing special.
Then after a while the second band Antillectual started their show. Woah, they really freaked out on stage and it was fun to see the others moshing to their music! But still, they're not even as cool as Rise Against are.
We were waiting until 10:15, when Rise Against entered the stage. That was so exciting!
They started with PlayDrones , followed by PlayGive It All where really EVERYONE in the hall was dancing, moshing, screaming and stuff. Fuck yeah, what an awesome start for a concert.
I never had so much fun at a concert, but well, it is Rise Against... who are playing with so much power & passion. Woohoo! And I really didn't think that we could be so close to the band, especially to Tim who was totally rocking the house. He hold the microphone very often to the fans, we all were screaming and yeah, I never felt so fucking great :D *lol*
They were performing about 70 minutes I think, the playlist was just amazing and I couldn't hope for better songs. But there was one song missing:
    PlaySwing Life Away !!!
Maybe they play it at their next concert, Tim said that they will come back in 6 months when their new album is out.
I'm sure that this wasn't my last Rise Against concert. :)

Now here's the playlist of Groningen:
    1. PlayDrones
    2. PlayGive It All
    3. PlayState of the Union
    4. PlayReady To Fall
    5. PlayInjection
    6. PlayLike The Angel
    7. PlayBlood to Bleed
    8. PlayHeaven Knows
    9. PlayChamber The Cartridge
    10. PlayLast Chance Blueprint
    11. PlayBricks
    12. PlayDancing for Rain
    13. PlayBehind Closed Doors
    14. PlayThe Good Left Undone
    15. Intro
    16. PlaySurvive
    17. Minor Threat
    18. PlayUnder The Knife
    19. PlayPrayer Of The Refugee

I hope you liked my journal, comments are welcome ;)

  • Jimmy Eat World LIVE in Osnabruck, 9th June 2008

    10 Jun 2008, 17:38

Mon 9 Jun – Jimmy Eat World, Rival Schools

Wooohhooo, what an amazing concert last night of Jimmy Eat World in Osnabrück! I would say that it was even better than their last concert in Bremen!!
So I'm trying to tell my whole concertstory in this journal, I hope its getting better than my last concert review.
So my brother and I arrived at about 3:15 pm in Osnabrück, the concert hall was at the edge of Osnabrück, pretty small and full of graffiti, it just looks really amazing :) And the tourbus of Jimmy eat world was pretty close to our car, so we decided to go to their tourbus and watch, if we see one of the band. There were 3 other fans waiting with us, but we waited more than 2 hours until finally Zach came out and made some photos with us.
After that, everyone of JEW came out and talked to us fans, and I can't say how lucky I am that I met all 4 bandmembers, they are all soooo nice, especially Jim.

At about 6:30 pm, we went to the entrance where we had to wait until 8 pm for the admission.
Hehe, and I ran to the barrier and I was standing again in the first row at this awesome concert! :)
We've waited for one hour when the support band
    Rival Schools started their show.
I think their music is pretty good, not as good as Jimmy but cool. The only bad thing about that was, that the sound was just TOO loud, I felt like my ears were bleeding!
They played about 40 minutes I think, and so it was time to wait again till Jimmy Eat World entered the stage.
At 10:20 pm they started the show with PlayBig Casino again, the whole hall was rocking with the band!!
They played 20 tracks, it was a bit different to the Bremen Show (this time, they played 3 tracks more =) and they seemed to be very happy to play another show in Germany. It was just....AMAZING!
The crowd was really cool too, when Jimmy played older songs like PlayBleed American or PlaySweetness everyone was moshing! Haha.
And I really loved the slower songs like PlayDisintegration or Play23. Wow, I just loved every song they played last night. It was just so perfect! :)

    Here's the playlist:
    1. Big Casino
    2. Sweetness
    3. Crush
    4. Work
    5. Always Be
    6. Dizzy
    7. Blister
    8. Here It Goes
    9. A Praise Chorus
    10. Disintegration
    11. Get it faster
    12. Let it happen
    13. Carry You
    14. 23
    15. Your New Aesthetic (I remember that they didnt play that song, but it is on the playlist I got after the concert ;) )
    16. Bleed American
    17. Pain

    Encore:
    18. Hear You Me
    19. Futures
    20. The Middle

So they played about 85 minutes...pure perfection!

I got a plectrum of Jim and the playlist, and after their gig we went to the tourbus again and asked for photos, daaamn, these guys are sooo fucking nice :D
So here's my favourite picture with Jim :)

I hope I didn't make to many mistakes in this journal, my english is just not perfect.
    So thanks for reading :)
    Bye bye
P.S. Jimmy Eat World is just the f*cking best band ever! :)
  • Jimmy Eat World LIVE in Bremen, 7th February 2008

    9 Feb 2008, 23:24

Thu 7 Feb – Jimmy Eat World, Sparkardia

Wow, this was a really awesome concert of Jimmy Eat World 2 days ago. I'm still so impressed that I think I have to write a journal about it.
It all started very good, my brother and I arrived in Bremen at about 6:15 pm and the first shock: just 6 people were waiting outside the "Aladin". The admission was at 7pm and we ran to barrier, you know, the first row. The stage was maybe 2 m away from us =D
So when finally Sparkadia started playing, the hall was full...But to be honest, almost everyone seemed very bored of the band. After 25 minutes playing, they left the stage and everyone was waiting for Jimmy Eat World to start their AWESOME show! Wow, and about 8:55 pm, they came on stage and started with the first single PlayBig Casino from their new album Chase This Light.
They played for about 75-80 minutes, including my favourite tracks Play23 , PlayFor Me This Is Heaven, PlayDisintegration and PlayHear You Me .
If you want to see some pictures, I already uploaded some on flickr.com :)

But this awesome night shouldn't already end after the concert...We've waited for the band in front of their tourbus for about 1 1/2 hours. We thought that we should look for them at the backdoor of the concert hall and on the way to it we met Jimmy Eat World's singer Jim Adkins !!! He was sooo nice and we talked a bit, and finally made some photos with him. This is the picture my brother took of us:

It was an awesome night that I won't forget =)
    Thanks for reading.

    P.S. Here's the playlist:
    1. Big casino
    2. Sweetness
    3. Work
    4. Always be
    5. For me this is heaven
    6. Disintegration
    7. Bleed american
    8. Here it goes
    9. Blister
    10. No sensitivity
    11. Let it happen
    12. 23
    13. Your house
    14. Hear you me
    15. Dizzy
    16. Pain
    17. The middle
