About Me

the music lovers deserve a personal soundtrack that follows us around.
not on headphones, but music oozing around us.
there should be a superhero that shows up and hits people with the perfect song for whatever moment they are in. i'm going to say it... like an eighties movie, the song blares and pushes us like rocky running up those steps, or just lingers in the moment like bad moon rising in american werewolf in london, better yet like the music seems to pour into the streets in american graffitti.

problem with the ipod - the i part.
ah to share.
one of my favorite things ever is to say, "listen to this".
if you can give someone goosebumps with a song you know should be heard.
well, there is something, that i enjoy like not much else.
let's say if i was bono, standing on stage singing a song to thousands of people who were singing back to me the words and notes i felt i needed to share, well, i'm pretty sure that my head would explode from the sheer joy of it.

when radio djs were actually radio djs and before marketing ruled the world, they were those superheroes. in an odd twist of fate, the place i find myself hearing some of the best selections played for the public is in the mall, in certain stores. was that just the little ones being pumped out of the express speakers? huh. some of the best music is now the inspiring soundtrack to shopping... look around, they don't know the songs. they don't look up and say, hang on, i haven't heard this one. dare to ask the girl at the cashier, hey what are you playing? they are not even sure of what you are talking about.
you know what, it doesn't matter. for the 2 times a year i go to the mall when i absolutely need to, at least i get to hear some good music (thanks satellite music-selecting ladies or dudes).
commercials and soundtracks, if that is how my favorite musicians like M. Ward or Spoon can get by and keep creating, then so be it.
the true music fans stand on the shoulders of the VW ad drooling fake plastic chrome junkies and say... awesome, a Wilco song.
