Yurihito Watanabe is a Japanese sound artist. Also goes by the name yxetm+ . Watanabe extracts the soundscapes and textures he uses in his performances from various literary and musical sources, including medieval manuscripts, music by Hildegard von Bingen, Noh plays as well as texts by Dante, Poe, Nerval, Mallarmé, and Paul Celan. Watanabe has performed at galleries in Tokyo as well as the LEM Festival in Barcelona. His sound installations have been shown at the Raketenstation Hombroich in Germany, at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
