Originally released in May, 1976, "Clang of the Yankee Reaper" continues Van Dyke Parks' exploration of Calypso, Caribbean and Latin musical styles found in his earlier "Discover America." Only the title track on "Clang of the Yankee Reaper" was written by Parks; the other nine songs are attributed to leading artists in the genre, with Parks' vocals making these performances unique.
