saw this band live last summer. the flute player drank about 6 beers and smoked half a pack of cigarettes during their set. didn't think it was possible to look tough while playing the flute. i was wrong.

I kinda like it, tho most of the standard up tempo songs - whiskey makes me crazy, really duggins? - seem kinda empty to me. however, songs like st. stephen's day, get back and especially the 8 minute long hunger strike/harmony are really beautiful.

Mourned for years that there'd never be another Pogues album and that - and I really hate to say this but it's the sad truth - Shane's solo stuff just doesn't compare. Then my favorite nephew turned me on to The Tossers. And all is well with the world again!

Their version of Dirty Old Town they played live was a match for the original, and that's certainly saying something.

This is probably the best that happened to Irish folk/punk since the pogues.

Tossers albums sure are difficult to come across. I only have Valley, Agony, and Communication & Conviction, and I love all three of them to death. Amazon carries a few others, but I don't really like ordering through them unless I have to. I can't express how much I love these guys, and best of all, reading up on them introduced me to The Pogues. :)

I saw these guys live last night. It had to be the most fun and energetic audience I've ever been a part of. Everyone was dancing and singing and spilling beer on each other. :)

Their best song has to be Maidrin Rua - Tell Me Ma Really good version of the Dubliners. Sometimes I forget whether I am listening to The Tossers or The Pogues. I had no idea that I was going to see these guys. They were playing a ska show with Catch 22, Westbound Train, and Big D and the Kids Table. Now they are one of my favorite bands. Come to London!!

The BEST thing I brought back from living in Illinois was finding this band. One of my favorites -- Communication & Conviction is a great intro to the band.
