"Livin' for the Weekend" was a popular song by R&B vocal group The O'Jays. Released from their 1975 album, Family Reunion, it spent two weeks at number one on the R&B singles chart in the spring of that year. It was also successful on the pop charts, peaking at number twenty on the Billboard Hot 100. The B-side of the single, "Stairway to Heaven", proved to be just as popular. It has become a staple of Quiet Storm and adult contemporary R&B radio.[citation

August 25, 1942), Bill Isles (January 4, 1941 – March 2019), Bobby Massey, William Powell (January 20, 1942–May 26, 1977) and Eddie Levert (b. June 16, 1942).
