The Alan Parsons Project is a British rock group, founded by Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson. The group is based on a number of regular group members such as Stuart Elliot and Ian Bairnson, complemented with varying lead vocals such as Colin Blunstone, Chris Rainbow and Gary Brooker (Procol Harum). But in spite of the changing composition the band consistently plays high quality symphonic rock. The group is well known for its concept albums that cover themes such as Edgar Allan Poe, Gaudi or Freud.

Alan Parsons has an extensive production background, working on, among many other projects, Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” album as engineer. He was also on the rooftop with the Beatles for the Apple rooftop sessions.

Eric Woolfson wrote most of the lyrics and Alan Parsons the music. They made so-called ‘concept albums’. The NBA’s Chicago Bulls used the beginning of the Parson’s track “Sirius” as their opening lineup music during the Michael Jordan years.

Alan Parsons is still performing live shows, touring all over the world, but without Eric Woolfson.

Alan Parsons produced both Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and Abbey Road by the Beatles before going out on his own. He was the only singer to win a Grammy for best vocals, and didn’t sing a single song on I Robot.
