“Reality In Motion” zooms in on the thought process of making the first moves with a new romantic or sexual interest, filled with copious amounts of self-doubt and hesitation. Though "Currents" marks a major change in sound and mood for Tame Impala, this song most resembles those from the previous record "Lonerism", in particular the songs “Music to Walk Home By” and “Nothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control,” from self-doubting lyrics to a mid-lyric cutoff to wrap up the track, a signature of the band’s earlier work.
