It was written by Sugababes, Jason Pebworth, Jon Shave, George Astasio from The Invisible Men with Kyle Abrahams, Peter Ighile, Mariah Young-Jones & Rowan Martin and produced by The Invisible Men with Parker & James. "Freedom" was originally intended to be the lead single from the album but was made available for free download at Amazon UK on 25 September 2011. It was used as the main theme for the Nokia N8 advertising campaign from August 2011.
