Sondre Lerche is a from Bergen, Norway. His musical career started big time with his band The Faces Down and the critically acclaimed album Faces Down. The album was released in 2001 and featured some lively / songs, and some more calm songs. In 2006 he released the Duper Sessions, with an added pianist in his band. The group called itself the Faces Down Quartet, and Duper Sessions has a more jazzy/swingy feel compared to Lerche’s previous releases. Not to mention that Duper Sessions came out piano-driven unlike Faces Down and Two Way Monologue, where the guitar is the main instrument. In 2007 he released Phantom Punch, a decidedly more rock-influenced album, and one which still garnered critical praise. Lerche has gained a considerable status in the US. In 2007, Lerche composed the soundtrack to the comedy film “Dan in Real Life”, starring Steve Carell. You can also see Lerch and Lillian Samdal perform a duet at the end of the film.
