Perhaps as a single cohesive piece of music, Loveless may be superior, and I do believe it deserves its reputation of defining and perfecting a specific sound. However, as a collection of songs I probably prefer Souvlaki. It does tread further into dream pop territory and point towards the later evolution of the band rather than just being a gracefully explosive shoegaze record like their debut...
