Six days of fire, one day of rest

The Six Day War was fought between 5th and 10th June 1967 by Israel and an Arab alliance of Egypt, Syria and Jordan. Israel felt threatened by an increased Egyptian army presence in the Suez Canal and a naval blockade in the Gulf of Aqaba. Israel launched an attack and destroyed the Egyptian, Jordanian, Syrian and Iraqi air forces, before destroying Egyptian tanks in the Sinai Desert, reaching the Suez Canal, clearing the West Bank of Jordanian forces and capturing the Golan Heights.
