Love this album. One of my favorite Rush releases. Their range and variety never ceases to amaze me.

I have now heard it. It's a night and day improvement. It is in fact one of the best-sounding recordings I have heard in the last ten years, which the original... wasn't. To put it nicely.

I haven't heard it yet but the dynamic range logs indicate it's DR12 compared to the original's DR6, so that's a tremendously encouraging sign. (Keep in mind what a huge improvement Vapor Trails Remixed was over the original and then note that it's only DR7 as opposed to the original's DR5; granted, some of that is because the original is clipped and the remix isn't). Unfortunately it sounds like they fucked up during the mastering process for the S&R remaster and songs that were gapless in the original aren't gapless in the remaster, but that's easily fixed with an audio editor (at least in the digital version).

doesn't sound too bad to me? but i've heard some real bad shit i guess. even the original vapor trails is worse. is the remaster better to your ears?

Listen to the vinyl release guys, it sounds great here. I imagine this will be like Clockwork Angels, good the first few listens and amazing by the 10th/15th.

I can only imagine the disappointment of buying a CD which sounds like a 128kbps mp3 web stream

http://www.last.fm/music/Rush/Snakes%2B%2526%2BArrows/+images/62352129 Please vote up for this, as it's the album cover. The one currently up is for a special edition I believe.

Wow. If only more fantastic seventies prog bands could release an album this good in 2007.

I really hope Clockwork Angels will be as good as this. Best Rush album since Hold Your Fire

I was going to say that this and some of their other albums were their best, but then I just ended up adding all of them... I guess I'll just say that Rush is the best.

While this album isn't a complete sonic disaster/loudness war victim, as was Vapor Trails... it's still too loud and quickly becomes uncomfortable to listen to. Which is a shame, because it's pretty solid musically.

Great album, one of the heaviest of their career, which I have followed avidly since 1978. I wish they had more full tracks loaded for listening here, but I love "Hope" - such a beautiful guitar piece. Alex continues to amaze and inspire me. Supposedly they are working toward a new studio album now, and I can't wait! It's gonna be great. "Get on with the fascination..."

WOW! I honestly didn't think the boys still had it in them. This album is phenomenal!!! Easily the best album since Moving Pictures! I absolutely can't get enough of this album. First Rush album in a VERY long time that I cannot stop listening to. Every song hits it out of the park! 5/5
