There is a reference in a Gleaner advert that in 1959 he was playing in the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) Orchestra. It is also known that at one stage Harper played in Coburn’s Orchestra at ‘The Bournemouth’ alongside Don Drummond, Tommy McCook and Roland Alphonso.
