Ramón Raquello and His Orchestra were the house band of the Park Plaza Hotel's Meridian Room. They were largely known for playing pop standards of the day, such as Gerardo Matos Rodríguez's 'La Cumparsita' and Hoagy Carmichael's 'Stardust'. Raquello was born into a musical family in Portobelo, Panama, on May 1, 1908.
