Rainbow Train was a short-lived Dutch pop/rock band formed by songwriter/musician Hans Vermeulen after his succesful band Sandy Coast had gone on hiatus in 1974 (they would reform in 1980). Rainbow Train featured well-known Dutch musicians such as the Vermeulen brothers of Sandy Coast (Hans and Jan) and Jan Rietman and had Vermeulen's young protégé, Anita Meyer, as a vocalist. The group did a lot of session work before releasing an album, entitled Accompanied By, in 1978. The band's second album was released under the shortened name, The Train, in 1979.
