Puff Daddy and Faith Evans collaborated in covering The Police song. The song was recorded in memory of The Notorious B.I.G. (1972-1997). It topped the U.S. Hot 100 Billboard in 1997.
Also in 1997, in the UK, the song received considerable airplay in the week of mourning following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. Puff Daddy would later go on to perform the song at the 'Concert for Diana' in 2007 at the invitation of Princes William & Harry. Puff Daddy specifically paid tribute to Diana throughout the performance of the song.
