Pontiak may be two different artists:
Baltimore-based Pontiak is made up of multi-instrumentalist brothers Van (guitar, vocals), Jennings (bass, keyboards), and Lain (drums, vocals) Carney. To date, Pontiak’s releases - two EPs, a full length, “Valley of Cats,” and a mini-LP, “Sun on Sun” have been self-produced, moody slabs of guitar rock. The band has grown heavier with each record, and “Sun on Sun” can fairly be called a hybrid of classic- and stoner-rock, with songs running into 10-minute territory and extended instrumental breaks.
Pontus Johansson, a Swedish artist known from the program 100 höjdare who calls himself Pontiak. He writes all his own lyrics and sings them with his very charismatic voice.
