Born in 1976, Piana is Naoko Sasaki, currently living in Morioka, Japan. Her musical activity began with Card Skepper, a collaboration with guitarist Yuichiro Iwashita who is now one half of the electro acoustic unit Minamo (cubic music, quakebasket, apestaartje, 360 records). Through participation on albums and live performances with World’s End Girlfriend and Mokira, she has been fascinating many people with her delicate, cute and unique voice and musical talent as Piana.

They do not sound like the typical experimental post-rock glitch kind of thing but rather like an encoding artefact. If you say it’s supposed to be in this track then it’s okay, but it just sounds weird. I haven’t heard anything like this in Piana’s other songs.

I bought the song Butterfly on iTunes Plus but it got some heavy glitches. At 1:33 it even stops for a second. Now I listened to a preview on the Internet which seems to be 50% the length of the full track and it has the same glitches although it’s a completely different encode. This makes me wonder if those glitches are meant to be in there or not?
