Elliott Perkins (aka Phonem) lives in Leipzig, Germany. Inspired by his studies in linguistics he decided to name his alias after “phoneme,” the smallest unit of speech. Perkins has released two full-lengths on Morr Music. He’s quite similar to early Autechre, whose “Tri Repetae” album Perkins even cites as the album that drew him into experimental electronic music.
