Paolo Fresu is a jazz trumpet player from Berchidda, Sardinia. His main musical influence is probably Miles Davis, but he has also experimented fusion of different genres (e.g. he has released a CD in collaboration with gypsy Balkan brass ensemble Kocani Orkestar). He has published several CDs with different ensembles (Paolo Fresu Quartet, Paolo Fresu Quintet, etc.) and in collaboration with various artists. He is very active touring in Sardinia, Italy and Europe and organizes the yearly Berchidda Jazz Festival in his native town in North Sardinia.
