“The End Of All Things” is an ode to Brendon’s wife, Sarah. Brendon reportedly wrote the song in lieu of wedding vows. In a track-by-track interview for the album with Rock Sound, Brendon said he wrote the song to express "how in love and infatuated was with her and his respect for their relationship and her." Brendon’s inspiration for the dark, haunting style of the track is derived from one of his favorite songs “Lovesong” by The Cure. Brendon chose “The End Of All Things” as the final track because he “wanted to end … on a somber note” as opposed to concluding in a bombastic manner.
