The track was written by Yoo Young jin, who also composed and arranged the track with Yoo Han-jin. Members Taeyong, Mark, Johnny, Jeno and Hendery participated in writing the rap. Member Renjun revealed that Beautiful has existed before they debuted in 2016, and that the song was initially one of the debut singles for NCT U. It was later replaced with WITHOUT YOU.
