Michale Graves
On Tour2,792 listeners (155,696 plays)
In the fall of 1995 Michale Graves was nineteen and recording a demo in Lodi, New Jersey with his little known band “Mopes” when the owner mentioned that some of his friends were looking for a singer and that he might be what they were looking for. After some contemplation, Michale made a phone call to schedule an audition that would ultimately change the course of his life forever.
On Halloween night in 1995 after a brief appearance on stage at The Roseland Ballroom in New York City, he became the lead singer and played his first official gig at a club called Coney Island High with one of the most legendary punk rock bands of all time, Misfits. During Michale’s six year tenure with The Misfits, they headlined and supported tours with bands such as Marilyn Manson, Megadeth, Anthrax, GWAR and Life of Agony.
During this time they released three major albums. In 1996 The Misfits recorded their first album in almost twenty years entitled “American Psycho”, which was released by Geffen Records. The Misfits next release was a live album entitled, “Evil Live II”. It was a collection of live songs taken from shows on the relentless and very successful American Psycho Tour. October 1999 marked a third studio album called “Famous Monsters” released by Roadrunner Records. That year, Japan’s premier rock n roll publication, “Burrn Magazine”, voted Michale Graves “Vocalist of the Year”. Famous Monsters went on to become the biggest selling title ever for Roadrunner Japan.

Graves sucks. There was only one Misfits and it was a punk band with Danzig. Not a gay rock band with this tool bag

Fortunately, to see NathanBolstad making an ass of himself, you don't have to go anywhere. It's right on this page.

Well, he didn't make an arse of himself really did he, you can tell that at some points he was just doing it to play along with the show.

I'm slowly coming around to the idea that Graves' solo stuff is as good as his Misfits stuff. Stuff like 1119 is pretty goddamn awesome. Glad to see Gotham Road playing a show...even if it is just a one time thing hopefully it'll plant a seed for them to do a small tour or something soon.

graves > danzig? I didn't actually realize there were people who thought that way. Consider me educated. And sad. BTW I was at the reunion tour in DC ('96? 97?) where he beat some guy and ran off into the street like a chode. They pulled people from the audience to sing the rest of the set and 90% of them were better.

graves was the age of true brilliance, danzig was just raw. I prefer graves over all, but danzig has his moments. and both make the current state of the misfits seem like a golden era.

On a more important topic...need to figure out how to classify the tracks from Illusions. There are two possible issues here: 1. The CD is actually credited as Michale Graves & Damien Echols and not Michale Graves, but as Echols was just a writer and a performer, just listing it as Michale Graves is probably ok. The second is a little trickier, as it looks like the CD database just brings up...

...the name without any special notation (example - Teenage Monster on Illusions comes up as the PRID version, even though they are totally different). Maybe add (Illusions version) or (acoustic) to the song titles on Illusions?
