The third and final installment of Lupe’s Mural trilogy, which started with “Mural” on his 2015 album, Tetsuo & Youth, and was followed by “Mural Jr.” on his 2018 album, DROGAS WAVE. On August 12, 2021, Lupe tweeted that the Mural trilogy was complete. This part of the Mural trilogy engages Lupe’s experience with record labels through an extended metaphor, comparing his experience to a painter’s interactions with his patron. The naming convention for the Mural family (Ms., Mr., Jr.) of songs draws from the titles of three of the Pac-Man arcade games.
