Vinhas played in the trio Bossa Três with drummer Edison Machado and bassist Tião Neto, recording three albums in 1962, in the United States. Back to Brazil, Vinhas continued performing with Bossa Três and while playing with other Brazilian artists like Jorge Ben, Quarteto em Cy, Elis Regina and others.
