Tim Ferrell wrote this song after their band had a traumatic van breakdown on the side of the road in Topeka, KS. Apparently, one of the members of the band prayed to a random woman as his god and he asked her, "Whats wrong with our van?", and apparently she responded by saying, "It's the catalytic converter." Ferrel had gone through mental training to help him through it. "I had been trying to maintain a positive outlook," he says, "Of all the times we had a mini-catastrophe, I didn't lose my head over it." (River Front Times, Feb. 20, 2008)
