Vocalist Joey Cape also plays guitar in punk rock cover band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and sang in the recently disbanded experimental punk band Bad Astronaut. Recently, he started a new project called Afterburner, which is expected to be similar to Bad Astronaut. Other members of Lagwagon include guitarists Chris Flippin and Chris Rest, bassist Jesse Buglione, and drummer Dave Raun.
After 9 years and 5 records, the band remained silent in 1999-2000. They reunited in 2002 and released a comeback album titled Blaze in the following year. Despite the brief hiatus, the group has never broken up. In 2004, Joey released a split acoustic album with No Use for a Name frontman Tony Sly, which features acoustic versions of songs by both bands. Lagwagon’s latest album, entitled Resolve, was released in October 2005 and is a tribute to the life of longtime friend Derrick Plourde (original drummer for Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut), who commited suicide on March 30, 2005.
On August 12, 2006, it was announced at punkbands.com that Lagwagon is expected to record and release a new album sometime in 2008.
They are now in the studio recording an EP entitled I Think My Older Brother Used to Listen to Lagwagon due to be released in August 2008.

Burn, you're right! They're doing freaking everywhere. Jetstar do super cheap flights to loads of places, I'm doing nine Aussie shows- you should be able to get around for a reasonable price.

you got to check out this band, I heard of them a few years ago. They have been playing together since 1992 and have like 9 albums out, and all of there music is free to download on there website. There a western canadian band, but they are pretty unknown band to my knowledge. They have a pretty cool style, which is a little different the most new technical skate punk bands. Whatever check out there website www.slushpunk.com ( all of there 9 albums aree free to download ) and there myspace page ( www.myspace.com/slushpunk )

I think since Blaze the lines between Lagwagon (more the punky edge still) and Joey's side-projects (Bad Astronaut before and now The Playing Favorites - more the poppy edge) get blurred more and more with every release. Resolve was a first step and this EP continues the trend. It seems as if Joey can't separate the different songwriting processes anymore, which is sad, because then, everything could easily be one band with a massive output.

Cheers. Three months to the day now... Blue Murder will be booking it, so they may be the first place we hear anything.
